Floral Design Series -- Spatial Thrus...Description
The Dade City Garden Club is happy to announce it will be resuming its Floral Design Class Series in 2022 to help prepare both the membership and the community for successful participation in the garden club’s Flower Show scheduled for Spring 2023 as well as to create beautiful floral arrangements for the home. The Series will consist of three classes in total and attendees will be able to attend any one or all three. The first class in the series is scheduled for Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Dade City Garden Club from 9:30 am to 2 pm. The program will be a demonstration of creative line designs including a spatial thrust. Spatial Thrust is a creative design with a dominate volume of empty space defined by two strong, straight, parallel placements of identical plant or man-made material. The thrust may be vertical, diagonal, or horizontal. Attendees will be able to make their own design to take home and are asked to bring a candle holder for a large candle at least 16" tall for the design. They will also need scissors to cut plant material. Plant material will be provided. This class will be taught by Jan Griffin, a National Garden Club Accredited Master Instructor and President of the Florida Flower Show Judges. Jan will share her knowledge and tips helpful to both newbies and experienced designers. All levels of experience are welcome!
