The Dade City Garden Club invites the community to join in the effort to make Dade City a Monarch City USA by planting milkweed and other nectar plants to help the Monarch Butterfly right in their own backyard. They are hosting a Monarch Butterfly Seminar and Native Plant Sale on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Dade City Garden Club, 13630 5th Street; Dade City, FL. The Native Plant Sale will be open to the public from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be plenty of blooming plants to choose from to attract and keep pollinators. For those who want to learn more, there will be a Monarch Butterfly Seminar starting at 11 am. The speaker is Jim West, The Butterfly Guy, who was every instrumental in helping DeLand, FL become the first Monarch City USA in the state of Florida. We will have educational displays and more. Tickets for the seminar are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Advance tickets are available for purchase at www.dadecitygardenclub.com. The Dade City Garden Club was established in 1947 and is dedicated to the education of its members and the public in the fields of gardening, horticulture, landscape design, floral design, and environmental awareness.
