The Dade City Garden Club will open their 2019-2020 program year by welcoming back Anita Camacho, President of Butterfly Conservatory of Tampa Bay, Inc. and NABA-Tampa Bay chapter (North American Butterfly Association), who will talk on "Monarch Butterflies & More!" Camacho’s presentation last year helped launch the partnership between the Dade City Garden Club and the City of Dade City to become a Monarch City USA. The September 16th presentation will focus on an update on the Monarch migration and will also introduce other Pasco County butterflies. Anita has been raising butterflies for over 20 years and has released hundreds of Monarchs along with other native Florida butterflies. Her presentation promises to be fun as well as informative and will educate attendees on selecting the most appropriate nectar and milkweed plants, how to maximize their growth, and where to locate your garden(s) or containers. She has one request: Bring your questions! The September 16th program meeting is open to the public and will be held at The Dade City Garden Club at 13630 5th Street; Dade City, FL, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Light refreshments and beverages will be served.
