Dade City Garden Club presents a Florida Backyard Birds program, “Bird Feeding 101”. Feeding birds in our backyards has become more than just a passing hobby. In fact, birding in the United States has become the fastest growing outdoor recreational activity for families and individuals. But what does it take to feed birds and attract them to our yards? The Dade City Garden Club’s November program meeting will answer that question. Presented by Lucy Polak, owner of Wild Birds Unlimited of Tampa and Greg Williams, former owner, the program will educate people on successful bird feeding strategies and encourage them to enjoy nature through the potential variety of birds that visit Florida backyards. Attendees will also be able to purchase items, such as feeders and bird seed. Also featured will be an Orchid Sale sponsored by the Hibiscus Circle. A beautiful array of unusual and exotic orchids will be available for purchase, with proceeds to benefit the maintenance and expansion of the Hibiscus Circle gardens. Held at the Dade City Garden Club, located at 13630 Fifth Street, the meeting will open at 9:30 am with light refreshments and beverages. The program is free and the public is invited to attend.
