• Dade City Christmas Parade

  • The Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce

When: Friday, Dec 4, 2020 @ 7pm has been cancelled

Where: Historic Downtown Dade City see "Map" with route and entries

Message from John Moors, Executive Director:

This week, the Board of Directors and administration of the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce had to make a difficult decision, in lieu of the ongoing health crisis, and has decided to remove the application for a city permit to hold the 2020 Christmas Parade.

“A number of factors came into play”, said Chamber Director John Moors, “including the uncertainty of the availability of school entries, safety issues for participants and volunteers and the inability to ensure large crowds of spectators would be following whatever CDC guidelines might be in place”.

The timing of this announcement allows past participants the opportunity to register for other events and not to spend the time and resources it takes to prepare entries for this parade.

The Chamber appreciates the assistance from the City of Dade City and a host of volunteers who have helped make a memorable event in the past, and looks forward to a successful event on Friday December 3rd, 2021.

Thousands of spectators come to Downtown Dade City every year, since 1982, to see our Dade City Christmas Parade make its way from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, south on 7th Street to end on Church Avenue in front of the Post Office, which officially starts the Holiday season.

  • Invitation to participate Invitation to participate

  • Visitors and locals alike gather to watch colorfully decorated floats, dancers, marching bands and Santa Claus make their way down the parade route, as they have since 1982. They also take delight in the Christmas Stroll (see our Event Calendar for date). Don't forget to come see the Historic Dade City's Luminary Project and Church Street Christmas (always on Dec 21st, 22nd & 23rd).

We would love to have you and your business as a part of our parade with a decorated float. Every year the focus is on children, so we encourage you when decorating to include children or something devoted to children in your display on your float.

We also advise you to carefully read the rules and regulations and follow them, because they help us to keep the event safe, orderly, and enjoyable for everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. We look forward to see you in Historic Downtown Dade City!

  • We wish you and your family a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.

We appreciate the assistance from the City of Dade City, Dade City Police Department, our past Sponsors and a host of volunteers who have helped make a memorable Christmas Parade in the past, and we look forward to a successful Christmas Parade on Fri, Dec 3, 2021.
